Postcards from Kyoto

Posted on May 15, 2018August 18, 2018 by kowalkowskiallison

Thirty-six photos shared from Kyoto might seem like overkill but it was hard to even cut it down this much. This city (the country’s former capital) was a joy to wander through– you never knew what picturesque scene was around the corner. It had an older and more traditional feel than Tokyo (you’ll see we had many temples & shrines on the agenda), but it’s still quite large and populated which I wasn’t expecting. And while Tokyo felt familiar at times (similar big city vibes as, say, NYC), Kyoto was completely new to me and I loved spending time exploring its streets and culture. Here are a few, ok A LOT, of my snaps from 4ish days there! I wonder if we saw any geishas…scroll to find out 😉

So, no “memoirs of a geisha” photos for us–maybe next time but apparently they’re really hard to spot!
