Welcome to On•the•Move Musings: a weekly-update-series where I reflect on my time exploring the globe; a place to record all the little details from travel that, despite being so special, my pigeon brain could likely forget; a space to show gratitude for where life’s daydreams have taken me; a few moments to stop and write during the chaos of long term travel. I’ll be posting every Friday to share some good vibes and wanderlust before we head into the weekend!
Musings
It’s been 6 weeks since my last day of work, and I feel like it’s been nonstop that whole time between moving across the country and going to India. It was really nice to slow down over Christmas and be surrounded by friends and family. Being able to relax and spend quality time with loved ones is such a good feeling, especially considering I’m so used to working over the holidays. I’m definitely not taking my time off and being able to do that for granted. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas as well! That being said, I haven’t taken any photos since I got back to the US, so you get more from India haha.
Budget
I totaled the expenses for my India trip. I plan on posting a separate blog on it down the road, but I thought I’d share a few amounts with you all now. India is very affordable, especially the way we were traveling, but we could have done it even cheaper. I know my next trip will not be as kind on the wallet! It’s all about balance right?
Accommodation came to an average of $18.31 per night, and in terms of spending money, I averaged $19.37 per day. One day I only spent $2.25 and my most expensive day was $44.29!
It’s interesting to think about and there’s obviously pros and cons to traveling long term, but when I crunched those numbers and compared them to my monthly expenses living in San Diego, I was happy to realize I could live out a dream and not break the bank.
Currently Watching
We just went to see Little Women, and I absolutely loved it. It stars Emma Watson, who is one of my life role models, and Timothée Chalamet, who you might remember from my post last week. If you are considering going to see it, I highly recommend you do (and so do the critics)!
In Case You Missed It
